On to the Movies!

Follow up for last month’s home project, the garage. It went great. It’s a breeze to get in and out now. I did get carried away with my dream list of things to do though. The whole object of this plan is to take one room or space a month and refresh it. Invest in one major update and the rest be free or next to nothing sprucing and cleaning. My list of updating the garage would have been major expensive and very time consuming. I don’t want to waste every weekend working on the house nor go into debt. So the major update we did was instituting a peg board system for storage in the garage. I highly recommend it!

August: The TV Room
Certainly the most lived in room and the only really contemporary style room we have. I currently have a very neutral pallet with photographs and images from our favorite movies and TV shows on the wall. The big update I HAVE to make is to replace a table that also serves as storage space. The one we currently use is falling apart.

Theme: I’ve always dreamed of making this room seem like a movie theater.

Problems I have with the room..

Everything is exposed - the cords hang down the wall from the surround sound system, cords hanging out from behind the electronics, cords along the floor, cords, cords, cords everywhere!!

We have some memorabilia items that don’t have proper viewing places.

And all the DVDs stick out and look messy

I’ll see what I can do!
