I licked my brother in line at the bank because someone offered me 1,000,000 dollars
Hey everyone,
I know it's been awhile. I haven't had much to say.
Still no vacation. I have the time, just not the money. But my stress levels are much lower. I FINALLY got out of Customer Service. It felt like forever. and a day. I'm now up on the sales floor with a cool manager and the hardest part of my day is answering questions like: what colors does this come in and where are the restrooms. *ahhh* It's a bit boring, coming from such a fast paced environment, but I needed the change, or I was going to have a breakdown. And it's nice having a manager that listens to you and gives you feed back and actually gets stuff done (with some prodding).
...And with that being said, I may go back to Customer Service...Yes, I just said that. I am not delusional...mostly. It's a hard decision, but I have to do it if I want to make any kind of progress. There's a "Team Leader" position (like an assistant manager) open now and I'm interviewing next week. I know some of the other people who applied and I just hope I don't stick my foot in my mouth in the interview. I hope my work speaks for itself. I just hate having to think of reasons why I'd be good at the job. I've been here 5 years. If they can't see why I'd be good at the job already, then I don't know what I'm going to say that'll change their minds. It'll be $2.00 more/hr, and it's a looot less than most upstairs are making, but, I need it, and in this type of financial climate, I just can't go around negotiating salary. So, I may be able to afford cable tv or regular internet access again. Or, at the very least, have more than $50 in my bank account at the end of the month. yay!
I'm paying my car taxes at one town hall, electric bill at another town hall, mortagage, student loan, and condo fees today, as well as cleaning my house (hopefully) going grocery shopping and baking some brownies on my one day off. Geeze I lead an exciting life!! (I think I need another day to do all this, though. Especially the cleaning part) And I still have to do my Federal and State taxes.
