I panicked. Everything with unemployment is fine, and actually always was. I misread the paper and there was no deadline (that was for an appeal, which I didn't want. I wanted emergency unemployment compensation). So things are going fine for now.
And since I'm here, might as well write something a little fun:
Top Five Author Pairs I Always Mistake for Each Other
1.) John Irving/John Updike
(One's the Garp and Owen Meaney Guy/the Other's the Rabbit and Witches guy)
2.) Joseph Conrad/Joseph Campbell
(Heart of Darkness/Hero with a Thousand Faces)
3.) Evelyn Waugh/Eudora Welty
(This got easier when I pinned down that Evelyn was the dude.)
4.) Thomas Wolfe/Tom Wolfe
(ASDFGJKL;!!! For serious it was a shock knowing they were two different people. One inspired Kerouac/Other inspired by Kerouac. If that helps. Which it doesn't.)
5.) Mark Millar/Frank Miller
(Actually, I always knew the difference. It was spelling their names correctly and pronouncing their last names correctly that was a problem for awhile.)
Got anybody you confuse?
Also, been watching Deep Throat and my primary thought after all the debates over Linda's consent to it and how much money it really made and how revolutionary it really was all I can say is: Christ, that movie has some of the worst music imaginable. I'd love to kill the soundtrack and play "Hallelujah" over all of the sex scenes, that's how bad they are.
