Revenge is sweet

So we've been working on these group homework problems in Fracture Mechanics. Now normally I don't like group homework, but these haven't been so bad. Except that Jerry hasn't been showing up. And has been getting the credit. So Friday we were all supposed to meet (it's me, Jerry, and another guy, Travis), and guess who doesn't show? Or call? Yup. Jerry.

Travis and I are pretty pissed at this point, because it's the third time. So we finish the homework without him, and decide to talk to the prof about it. Well Travis couldn't make it, so I went and talked to Dr. R on Monday about Jerry. Dr. R said he'd suspected something like that, and thanked me for telling him, and didn't say what else he might do.

This morning we had to present our homework findings to the class. So I hand off the homework for Jerry to sign, and he does, and (a bit vindictively I admit), I take it back right away.

Now we're getting ready to present, and I thought I was going to do it (Travis and I had worked this out). But as we're getting up, Dr. R says "Since you all three have gone already, Jerry why don't you present?" Mwahahahahaha.

So Jerry starts reading word for word from our report. Then Dr. R (who doesn't normally do this), stops Jerry and asks him what he means by 'biaxial stresses'. Well, Jerry doesn't know what he means any more than anyone reading this knows what he means. So after a couple awkward seconds, he looks to Travis and me, and I explain biaxial stresses.

Then Dr. R does it again. "Jerry, tell me what you think the black oxide corrosion indicates?" Now it's Travis's turn to explain. Then Dr. R asks us if there's anything else, and Travis and I proceed to explain what we did, how we came to these conclusions, etc. And Jerry looks like a complete ass. Dr. R rocks. *eg*
