...argh, so the thing about TVD is that there are just SO MANY THINGS in an episode that I have so many thoughts. But main ones:
...Bonnie gets a storyline? A real one? Could it be?
I really want Bonnie to rise above her status as a plot device. So badly. But after the whole 'it was just a dream' reveal... yeah, I am not convinced that is actually what's happening. Once again, Bonnie is the medium for the plot device and that is not necessarily a storyline that tells us more about Bonnie herself, and I don't know it it's the acting or the writing or both or neither, but we rarely (if ever) see Bonnie development. And while she is totally a secondary character I would like to point out: Caroline, Tyler, Alaric, hell, even Caroline's mother had more character development than Bonnie. So. Yeah. I'm still waiting.
...Damon
So I think perhaps I am shifting in my perspective on Damon. I mean, he's always been my favourite Salvatore but at the moment I am finding him more and more pathetic rather than interesting. And look, in a way Damon's always been pathetic because he was pretty much defined by approval seeking behaviour and then followed that up with a big fuck you once he was a vampire and all, but now, it's not so much the approval seeking that is the pathetic thing here. I don't know. I just, it feels like he's stagnating?
And also the eye thing is really fucking irritating by now. Seriously. Quit it.
I also have no thoughts on Delena. Or the end bit. Or do I? Nah, still really on the couldn't care less boat.
BUT the whole "stop saving me" with Stefan? Yeah, okay, that I understand, because it all comes back to that. Always.
...Jeremy. OMFG that was brilliant. Just everything about it. The lead up, the execution (pun, intended?), not too crazy about the follow up, but you know, I suspect it's not a permanent. But yeah, Jeremy.
...my only other thing was that the lighting and everything was far more Bold and Beautiful/Days of Out Lives-ey than I remember it being? I don't know perhaps it is just that it has been forever since I have watched darkly lit TV? It was disconcerting to say the least.
Seriously, I was totally waiting for a Forrester or someone called Jack to be mentioned.
...in other news I went and saw The Dresden Dolls last night and they were phenomenal.
