That's remarkably evocative. Summary of a life and it's essence- including everything around it that affects it, changes it, in so few words- stunning. Cheers.

Two typing mistakes, I think. Did you mean "a series of cracks and cries"? And "the crumpled heap that was her body"?

I really, really like this. The straightforward language merely adds to the impact, and I like the first person POV. Short, but very good.

Wow, as brief as it is, I really felt that. I love the contrast between the sketchy matter-of-factness of the girl's narrative and how dense it is with implications. It made me wonder and shiver at all the things left untold in this not-so-happy family history.

Do you know what the thing is? (Because there's always a thing) I actually wanted to write about everything that's not in this when I went to write it, but this clicked and what I wrote before didn't. So I'm hugely glad that this works.
