Can hatred become a crime?

Is there a point to where hate becomes a crime? Is there a point to where a child can no longer take the criticism, the constant bickering, and the hatred in the house? Can there ever be real happiness in something so thick with tension? Is there a point to where even the one that loves her can no longer make her happy? How long before they push her over the edge? Before she no longer knows who she is or why she is here? How long before she no longer wants to be a part of her family anymore? The people that were supposed to love her and take care of her and protect her? How can those people make you so unhappy? How can they only think of their happiness and not of others? How can they not see the pain and grief they cause their only child? The child that they claim means so much to them? Can they not tell that she is about to burst with anger and with resentment? Can they not tell that they are driving her so far away? So far that they may never be able to reach her again? Most important, if they do realize it...Do they even really care?
