And I managed to remember my password. If you want to find me on Facebook where I live most of the time, it's Sheryl Zedler Roberts.
What have I been up to? Well, I almost died literally, in late January/early February because no one found the right lower lobe pneumonia, which precipitated a whole lot of fun like inflammation of the lung lining, and some pretty incredible feet swelling. Eventually I found out that I had no working veins in my lower legs and some time down the road I'll have to have surgery to fix it, oh yay. NOT. In meantime, I get to wear sexy old support hose when I am out of bed.
However, the very best news in the world, on March 8th, 3 weeks early, my daughter Sidra presented me with the most beautiful little boy in the galaxy. She and her husband Zack named him Nathan, for Nathan Brazil, a character created by the late great Jack Chalker in the Wellworld series. Considering Sidra's middle name is Maureen from the character in Robert Heinlein's Time Enough for Love and Sidra means "From the stars" or "Starlight", the SF theme of naming children continues. He's a great pleasant baby who actually sleeps, unlike his mother. However, he does hold his breath and squeal when he's really mad, which is exactly like his mother. Except Nathan only does it once, and Sidra did it several times in a row. I am enjoying him so much. I waited almost 8 years for him and I am so very happy.
