way too much stress

I'm writing this as quickly as I can; Lakay's trying to watch over my shoulder and he keeps asking me questions about it. The computer, I mean. And I can't just run off with it, I'm at an internet café. Better start from the beginning.

I accidentally left my computer at school, because Menhit was stalking Professor Snape and I was busy trying to keep her from pouncing on him. She's been very mean to the staff lately, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Anyway, I found out why my parents wanted me to come home so badly, and why Dad's staying at Mum's place.

They're attempting to arrange a marriage for me.

I've mostly put up with whatever they've tried to make me do my entire life. I took piano lessons until I was eleven, I was polite to Harrison Flourish, the idiotic son of the co-owner of the Flourish and Blott chain, I drop all previous engagements when Dad needs help at the bar, and I basically do whatever they ask of me. So I believe they were very surprised when I told them that there was no way in hell that I would submit to an arranged marriage.

They pleaded, and begged, and pointed out 'solid' reasons, and eventually they both promised to kick me out if I didn't at least try to get to know him.

Our first meeting was chaperoned by both our mothers. I went to his home for tea. I pretended to drink the tea, and was about to ask for plum juice when my mother stepped on my foot to stop me from asking. It was incredibly boring.

At our next meeting, our mothers suddenly decided they wanted to run off to Diagon Alley to shop, and allow Lakay and myself time to get to know each other. We asked about each other's hobbies. Mine, of course, are Charms, following Quidditch and Blitzball in the news, and sometimes playing the piano and watching Justin play his harmonica.

His hobby is to pretend to be a muggle in some role playing game.

Really, it's absolutely ridiculous. There are actually about a dozen perfectly good wizards and witches who waste their time by pretending to be muggles. They pass around a... a notejournal? Notebinder? ....Notebook, that's it. It's a bunch of sheets of parchment with a metal spiral holding the sheets together, and they take turns writing in it about their days in school, as muggles. There was all this terminology I didn't understand, like mobile fones and BBC and telesight, and Lakay plays someone named 'Cardo.' And when I asked him about what some of these things were, he just got all shifty and said he would get me in contact with someone named Dre. He doesn't even really understand the things he's talking about!

It's really weird. I can understand muggles wanting to have magic, but a perfectly good wizard wanting to act like he's a... a squib? And he's a Montmorency, for goodness sake, they're one of the purest families in Britain. I don't think his parents know that he does this. And I can't believe my parents want me to marry him.

Oh no, Lakay's trying to talk the management into letting him use their fone. I have to go. I'll try and sneak out of the house later to get back online.

Oh, and I failed my apparation test. Figures.
