I am in awe of nature these past few days. The weather is gorgeous, a cool relic to hang on to when the heat of July and August descends upon us. The sunsets have been lasting half an hour, and I find myself sitting in my chair watching the sun painting every glorious color imaginable every night. As the sun nears the horizon a shade of gold that enriches the soul and does nothing for the pocket is the first color. Soon the gold subdues itself, fading as the sun dips lower, only to be replaced by pinks and peaches that one would never expect to find in nature itself. Two nights ago a pink so deep it looked as if a salmon was leaping across the sky. The summer night sky, finding color and hue at such a late hour, amazes me.
