This...certainly isn't what I expected. Wherever this is, it definitely isn't Cardiff, that much is certain.

[Tosh smiles when she sees Jack] Jack, not many questions are weird when you've been in Torchwood long enough. It's 2009 back home.

[She gives him a suspicious look and presses the button] Yes. This is a lot of beating around the bush, Jack, it's been months since you returned.

[Okay, good, coordinates! He starts walking, and gives her a little shrug.]

Maybe for you it has. I was just heading back to the Hub when I got pulled here.

[Tosh has a bit of an oh shi- moment - because Jack has absolutely *no idea* what's happened since his return. No John Hart, none of what's been going on for months.]

None of the others are here, then? And where is here?

No one from Torchwood. The Doctor's here. --Two of them, actually, the one with the hair and the brilliant coat, and another with a bow tie and ...apparently, exploding pockets. And a few of their travelling companions. ...And the Master. Er. Harold Saxon, you might know him as.

Some sort of multiversal nexus, is all I've managed to gather. There are ...well, they say they're spirits -- that control this place. All sorts of odd things happen. [A pause -- and he sounds almost wistful, now.] I was human, Tosh. For about two weeks.

Exploding pockets? The Doctor - your Doctor? [This is all too much for her to comprehend right now, as she hasn't slept for well over a day, and it was really kind of a traumatic day, to boot.] And Harold Saxon calls himself the Master? What sort of a name is that?

My Doctor, yes. Two of them, I don't exactly know what to do with myself.

[But his face darkens at her next question.] Long story. He's ...an old ex-friend of the Doctor's.

[Tosh gives him a one-armed hug, but winces - she hadn't been bleeding, so she'd assumed that the hole in her stomach was gone. Clearly it isn't.]

Two at once? [She's torn between 'kinky' and the more logical 'wtf'.] This place must be a little bit confusing when it comes to timelines. [She's had better sarcasm, yes. Blame the blood loss.]

It is. One of the companions here is from when I travelled with the Doctor. The other two are with the one with the bowtie. This place -- there's ...King Henry VIII is here. It gives me a headache.

Oh, you know, typical day at work. [She sucks in a breath; clearly moving was not the best idea in the world, because now it's fairly obvious that the anaesthetic's worn off.] Building collapsed on top of us - then I got shot.

[And then she died. She's not going to mention that part.] Thought it got better, but apparently not. [All the blood on her clothes had been dry, anyway. She's fairly worried about the wound breaking open now.]

Sorry, Henry VIII? The one with all the wives?

[Eh, it's Torchwood. Everyone dies (or nearly dies) at least once.] One and the same, yeah. One of his wives is here, too. People from entirely different universes, Harry Potter characters, it's like the Rift decided to have a field day.

I don't know. You would think it couldn't be possible, crossing their own timelines and everything, but -- time is weird here. Among other things, obviously.
