C(r)oc Rock

So, this weekend was full of interesting/pointless adventures. Wooooo!

On Friday we had MEANT to go to the Changeling game. Really. Except Huggy had to get his moped (Which is named Sweet Pea by the way, or maybe Sweet Pee in honor of the Buddy Incident) That outing was meant to take 20 bloody minutes, but their were some odd scheduling things due to the fact he had to have his parents come out. Well, we arrive at Full Throttle at six and plan to be on our way to Changeling by 7:00. What occurs? IT TAKES TWO FRAGGIN' HOURS TO GET OUT OF THERE?! WTF?! But anyway, then we had to follow Huggy back to my Mom's with him on his moped. Ever wonder how long it takes a big guy on a moped to get from Southwest Lansing to the Northside? About 30-35 minutes. So, we eat and run on my mother and brother in law and start out to Changeling by 8:30. So everything is cool right? Well, it was until I zoned out and Emily ignored the exit onto I-69. We figure this out by the time we're almost in fucking Mt. Pleseant. So at this point we're like "Fuck it. We'll go to visit Kevin in Alma." Well, Kelly said he was at work, so we got directions to the Big Boy in Alma. We eat, hang with Kevin after he gets out. Then, Huggy sees a club across the parking lot named C(r)oc Rock. Kevin tells us it's the only real club in Alma/St. Louis. So we go there, pay our dollar cover and find the cleaner boonies version of the Dirty Dollar. Decent pool tables, boonies hootchies. We played a few games of pool and took off. I then went to the Denny's and hung out with Ian. He needed to listen to advice so he could ignore it. Heh. Though he has gotten better at discussing his faith. He's still talking about getting a couple of the Elders together with me and having us "go at it"

Saturday: Em, Huggy and I try to figure out something to do. We end up going to the Parlour for eats where Em and I order a pizza. Huggy gets a super priced salad. Huggy finishes his salad and they come out to inform us that they dropped our pizza. They have to start over. They offer something to tide us over, we get cheezy bread. It was delicious. It was free. Then they come to tell us that they dropped our pizza again. We cried. They gave us the pizza free and offered us ice cream. We eat some pizza, we get ice cream. We eat some ice cream. I stop eating when my stomach informs me in no uncertain terms that any more ice cream will result in projectile food exit systems engaging. Then we go to X-Cel for Sin Saturday. The place is very trendy in decor, even more trendy in it's clientele. The alcohol is 3.50 for a bottle of Labbatt. Ick. We leave shortly after the "Sin Girls" first perform. They were not so great. We went to Video To Go and got Sarah Silverman's "Jesus is Magic", which is your basic variety shock comedy. This does very little for Huggy and I as we are much more vulgar than this woman. She is merely a vulgarity/shock padawan.

Sunday: Em and I go to lunch/spend the day with her parents and Liz (her sister). My stomach was still upset from the night before. It was kinda nice. It was... family-like. We saw pictures of her Dad's trip to China. I find myself kind of wanting to go to China some day. I wish Em knew Chinese, heh. Well, they invited us out to dinner and invited out my family, plus Adianna (the girl my Mom takes care of on the weekend) and the two families and a family Em's family is friends with go to Panda House. It was good all around and I suddenly was starving when the food got there. Everyone ate their fill and Em and I got the left overs. Woohoo! All in all, I enjoyed it except when I started getting fidgetty at the restaurant. I go back and forth with Em's family. Sometimes they feel like family, and other times they don't. I guess that is just part of the process. Well, we'll see how it goes. I may have an announcement soon for folks. Stay tuned.

Plans for tommorrow are to get my permit (I need a car for work goddamnit), show Chris and Kelly where Douglas J is and picking up my two mortgage applications. Tuesday we're taking Kelly out to Metro Detroit to meet my Dad and spend the day around there. I'm looking forward to it. This group of days seems to revolve around the concept of family and my understanding of it. It kind of REALLY freaks me out. We'll see how it goes.

Comics: This week  was HOT for comics! But we were fucking broke. Which licked ass. 6 different Civil War titles came out, including X-Factor 8. Also, the next thing of Daredevil and the first issue of Star Wars: Legacy. I hate money. I want comics. By the way, there's a new indie title called Ursa Minors. It is lame. Don't buy it. Or I'll bunch you in the cervix. Even if you're a guy. Seriously. The funniest thing in it is a short at the back about a Rabbi Ninja. *points at the LJ pic* FUCKING THIEVES! THE IDEA THIEVES! ALL OF THEM! One day... oh yes, one day... they will pay.
