Just Another Day at the Office

Okay. So I'm assigned to replenishments, and toward the end of the night I have to pull one from ZP112J. I line up the forks and slip them into the pallet . . . no problem. But the product weighs less than a wet kitten and is on a slip sheet that catches of the pallet in the next slot, so while I'm pulling it out it slides halfway off the back of the pallet!

Shit.

So there I am, thankful nobody else is in sight, trying to finnesse the pallet back under the slip sheet . . . when the leading wheeld of the Raymond's outriggers get stuck under the racking.

Shit.

I can't just straighten the wheels, floor it, and pop back out. The Raymond's just too underpowered for that. So I have to work the wheels back and forth, swinging the forks way up in the J level wildly back and forth in the process, while not completely losing the product still desperately hanging onto the back of the pallet.

Somehow I managed to wiggle the wheels free, leaving me only yhe little problem of the pallet. By patiently (Oh, good, still no witnesses!) pushing the pallet in an inch and pulling the product two inches out, pushing the pallet in an inch and pulling the product two inches out, I worked it close enough to the edge to bring it down the slow and intact way, scanned the LPN, and founx the destination.

ZP1111. Across the aisle. And it wasn't empty.

Shit.

Okay, I've only got a couple dozen boxes to drop off. I can make them fit. Then I ditch the empty pallet and look for my next destination.

ZR102J.

And it wants me to take it to ZP1111.

No. Just no.

But I had to pull the pallet down so I could scan it before I could tell it no.

And I can't just lift it back up to ZR102J.

Because there's an open slot closer to ZP1111, I guess.

ZP112J.

Sigh.

hee!, work, oops!, stress
