Yes, I can't get to my cigarettes--I guess this must be my first curse.

None of them would stick. It's--well, it's very distressing.

Then I don't think a nicotine drip would help much. You may have to wait until midnight.

A cigarette. But barring that I think I'll make do with bad wine.

As opposed to good wine?

Oh--I can't stomach good wine. It's a sluagh quirk, we can only live on things that are a little off--like sour milk and stale bread, délicieuse.

I'm sure we can spoil some wine, then.

You're so very thoughtful, thank you--of course I don't serve that kind of thing to my guests, that's just not--well, it's not done in polite society, whatever some teenagers with a bad sense of humor might think.

I didn't think that sluagh were often sociable creatures.

Some of us acclimate to socializing more than others, and even if we're reclusive most of us do make our best efforts to be polite, which of course means being considerate whenever we do have reason to entertain. I--like giving a tea, every now and then.

Oh, of course I'd invite you, consider that a given. I think I should call on people as soon as I have my apartment settled, that would be a nice way to warm the place.
