I was thinking recently about the overarching story God has been unfolding for us. I realized that I often lose sight of it's scope. In the day-to-day business I lose track of the outcome, what happens beyond the end of the age. I forget that glory awaits us, that all men from every tribe, tongue, and nation have an open invitation to the Banquet

Like in Till We Have Faces, where all the queen's life was just a preparation for the deep transformation of soul that was only brought about on her deathbed. (I apologize if I spoiled the book...) My initial thought is, "What a waste! If only she could have enjoyed the fruits of that throughout her life!" But then, isn't our life a preparation for what's to come? I, also, often lose sight of the scope.
