Ah, the Halloween feast. Fun and frolics for all ages. Even grumpy old so and sos like Severus. If he'd bothered to turn up, that is. Shame, really. Last year, I'm sure I almost saw him smile. He bared his teeth, at least. And I'm sure he would have been delighted to have seen some of the costumes. Particularly Harry Potter's...
On that note, Mr Potter, please allow me to congratulate you on your fabulous costume. It was quite uncanny. How did you make your hair look so greasy, er, shiny? Honestly, if Sev ever accidentally drunk a shrinking potion, the two of you would have looked like twins.
And now there's an idea for a prank.
None of the teachers dressed up, save Sybil. Although when I complimented her on her ensemble (I assumed she was supposed to be some bird-insect-bag lady hybrid) she gave me the coldest look. I do hope she was in fancy dress. It suddenly occurs to me that perhaps she wasn't.
Oh well!
Everyone had, at least, made an effort. Filch looked positively dashing. Honestly, his clothes are amazing - I never knew there were so many different shades of grey. Argus, why won't you take me up on that offer of a drink? You've never tasted whisky like mine, believe me.
