My parents went on a road trip for their anniversary this year. They were planning on hitting up all the antique stores they could and I asked them to look for a ukulele for me. Lo and behold, they found two. One, a Fin-Der Diamond Head model from the 50s, and the other a Duke Kahanamoku Soprano uke with a case.
I've learned five chords so far and I'm already building up calluses on the ends of my fingers.
I'm going to end up putting the Diamond Head model on eBay (I'm gonna do the same with my copy of the DSM-IV)
