Oh my FREAKING GOURD. GO SEE THIS MOVIE.

Saw Quarantine this morning. It's six bucks for one ticket if you go before noon. But that doesn't matter.

GOOD.

MOVIE.

Jennifer Carpenter is officially the coolest actress ever.

There's no music, it's filmed like it takes place in real time, it's not annoying like Cloverfield and it genuinely had me biting my nails (or what's left of them). At the very beginning when she was going through her initial walkthrough of the fire station the guys introduced her to Wilshire the Dalmation and I was sitting in my seat wishing I had someone to nudge hard in the ribs and say: "Dude! That's the dog Cesar Millan helped out with!!" And suddenly I wasn't watching a movie anymore-I was watching a reporter and her cameraman shadow two firefighters in the night shift. All because that one link to reality was cemented with a dog.

This is the first movie in a while that I've actually had to sit still for a while afterwards to calm down.

EDIT: Holy crap-I just remembered where I saw the landlord, Yuri, before. It's Boris the Blade! "As in... Boris, the Bullet-Dodger." "Why do they call him the Bullet-Dodger?" "...Because he dodges bullets, Avi."
I knew I recognized his voice. Now I can hear it clearly: "Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work... you can always hit them with it."
Now I need to watch Snatch again. It's been about two years since I've last seen it, I think.
