The Babel Fish has Forsaken Us...and it is GOOOOD!

Just under the wire, we think! :D indiachick wrote a deliciously quirky and fascinating and downright awesome Big Bang. Run, don't walk, to her fic here: The Babel Fish Has Forsaken Us. It really is fantastic, no lie. She has such a way with dream imagery and metaphor. It's delightful, there's no better word for it. :D

Wow! So beautiful! I love the soft light reflected off Sam's and Dean's skin. Dean looks as if he's going through the effect of the mark, and Sam a little helpless. The background looks amazing with the haunted castle perched on a small island in the middle of the sea. It's intriguing that the water around the island seems violent while the rest of the sea looks calm. The moon and the cloud add to the mysery. I'll read the fic to know what the red band and the bird mean. Is more art coming in the follow-up :D?

I procrastinated...as per my stupid usual...and only got a few tiny doodles done, for chapter dividers (which I just did.) But thank you SO MUCH for the lovely words! The background was a bit of a photo-slam, in that I used a lot of phototextures cut and pasted all over the place, but the figs were painted from scratch. (Perspective and architecture is still my bane.)

The fic is really, really cool! Enjoy it!

Thank ya! I got a portfolio review from an art director once, who told me the expressions on my figures were fairly...nondescript? So I've been trying to keep a conscious eye on that ever since. So yay!

Oooh. Nice and atmospheric -- you've definitely captured the mood of the story. And I love how you worked Dee's red thread into the art, how it seems to tug the boys together. The sky is gorgeous, deep, and mysterious -- love that haloed moon! Dean looks so beaten and exhausted while Sam seems to be struggling against the pull of the thread and underwater . . . . intriguing. Fantastic work as always, bb.

Aw, thanks, Deb! This image was a leeeeetle bit ambitious for a realistic painting, but the fic is so atmospheric, it needed similar art. Even if wasn't easy or what I pictured in my mind's eye...but when is it ever, right?

*hugs to pieces*

Gorgeous poster! Sam and Dean are both beautiful, especially their expressions, and the island has such a haunting look it adds to the gloom of the dark water.
I'm sure the story will be equally excellent : D
