Well, from my 2010 experience, the Westin food is ungodly expensive, and you're pretty much in the middle of nowhere, out near O'Hare. There IS, however, a McDonald's down the road. (But if you've got a car, you'll be able to go a bit farther.) Doesn't sound like you'll have time to actually go INTO Chicago, so I can't address much there.

As far as the rest . . . I must compose my mind, then will send you a VERY long e-mail. :D

ETA. Dress however you wish for the karaoke party . . . and bring earplugs. It's LOUD. ;)

. . . disco zombie hooker? I may have to see this. :D

Sweet! Thanks, lady!

(My disco zombie hooker costume is not nearly as sexy as it sounds; believe me.)

Comfy clothes and shoes for all the queuing and getting hot and sweaty (from the crowds and from nerves!!)
There is a Sam'n'Dean like diner about 10 minutes walk from the Hotel - if I remember right, you come out of the Hotel main exit, turn left on the main road and just walk for c 10 mins. There were other eating places along there too, and a garage I think (sorry Gas station). But this diner was fun - it had those booths and a train set running round the ceiling. Oh and I think there was an Indian restaurant on the opposite side of the road too - no need to eat in the Hotel as ridiculous hotel prices.
Be ready to talk to the boys when you go to get your autographs - if you chat to them they chat back (especially Jensen - he needs a bit of prompting to speak). If you are having photos from what I've seen it isn't always a good idea to leave it to the Js to pick a pose, better if you have something in mind to ask for it!

Mmm, Indian! And I love mom-n-pop diners; you can't live in Ohio and NOT.

Nah, I didn't buy a photo op; it just triggered my embarrassment squick too hard and I'd end up looking like an old troll, squeezed under someone's armpit. But I'll chat 'em up good at the autograph table. I'm driven to find out what color Jared's eyes really are. ;)

Thanks for the 411. Wish you could be there this year but it's a bit of a haul for you! ;)

I'm hauling my fat troll ass to Rome again instead, in May - and I just go for the photos regardless. I had a thought this next time to ask Jared for a high five because that would make a totally ridiculous picture. I wouldn't even be able to reach his hand standing on a box.
My roomie in Chicago actually asked Jared at the auto table what colour his eyes were, and his response was to open them wide and ask her to check for him coz he didn't know!!!

Oh mah gawd, ROME. I'd have to make a 2-week vacation out of it (if I won the lottery or a rich aunt died.) I can't even imagine going to Rome, let alone a SPN convention IN ROME.

I'll have to try that "What color are your eyes?" stunt, hee!

"brought my disco zombie hooker costume" LOL

Everything is more expensive than it would normally, because that's what happens when you stay at the Hotel. If you want to get SPN Merchandise, bring extra money. I think it wasn't that expensive, but that depends on what you get. ALSO auctions. They do them and if you stay you will be compelled to buy something probably xD

So my recommendation is to go with at the minimum with a couple extra $100 dollars just in case. If you find a Mc Donalds for food, you will have to go there early or stack them in you room because the Con schedule is pretty tight and time flies, specially if you have Gold (the 7am BF with the J's and right after that the OP- little break-panel).
Just calculate your time as soon they email you the schedule, and you will be fine. Like a hunt: shelter, how far is the food, how much money would I need, timing. *lol spn get out of my head*

You will have lots of fun. Enjoy it hon!

I had a feeling time would be tight. I'll probably end up packing a lot of food to come with us so I don't have to forage for it at the hotel and waste time standing in food lines. I'd rather waste time tracking down my LJ buds!

Thanks for the info!

We should make a run to Whole Foods and/or Trader Joe's before we hit the road.

questions:
1. Why haven't you done an episode about the Headless Horseman yet? Tell Ben Edlund to get on that.
2.You've said for a while you want to do an episode where Sam & Dean go to Hawaii. What would they be hunting there?
3. What character from season 1 would you like to see again in an upcoming episode?
