(no subject)
So, I started at NIH this week! Orientation was a drag and v. boring but my second day was pretty cool. I got to meet some very interesting and important people and I feel that even though I am not in the Dietetic department, I will still learn a lot and possibly have an even better experience. I found out my supervisor actually used to be in charge of the Dietetic Internship Program at NIH and is still a Dietitian, So hopefully, I can the hook up and network to develop good relations and eventually gain contacts.
Other than that, I came back from the LV. It was a lot better this time around and was definitely an awesome vacation, although it was very short. The first night Alex and I got settled into the hotel, (We stayed at the Flamingo) ate at Margaritaville to start off our Drinkfest! with a Landshark and Fat Tire yum.. Then we met up with his intern friends and hit up the Toby Keith Bar in Harrah's. It was interesting to say the least with a lot of country folk line dancing and silliness all around. I got a jack and ginger served in a giant mason jar. It was pretty bad ass. I was exhausted so we went to bed.
Next day, slept in til 11, then hit up the pool. It was really crowded but with my determination and persistence, we found some chairs. Got some pina coladas and baked in the sun. It was lovely. HA. Then we went on shenanigans. We walked what felt like miles to the Rio so Alex could turn in some paperwork. Once we got there, I was about ready to kill him because I was so tired. We later found out the was a shuttle from Paris which is just a block from the Flamigo....Lame. To make up for it we took a cab to In-N-Out!!! yes. It was amazing and we got t-shirts! Then we went to MGM to get tickets to KA. Buy one Get one free tickets. Just join the players club, it has its perks. Back to the hotel to freshen up and to the show we went. It was really cool and Cirque shows are always fun. Alex got a giant Drink with a free cup!
Thursday... We got a cool drink/cup from paris the got new shoes because my feet hurt then went to Alex's house to sleep!
Friday, I met up with Darlene and met her babies! too cute. Napped again and went out to dinner and had some delicious beer.
All in all, I drank a lot and had a lot of fun...
I am pretty positive I have drank more in this past month alone than I have all year. Impressive.
I'm just going with the flow. Working hard, Playing Hard and Loving Life. I just have to keep my focus. I don't want to pass up any opportunity but I am def going keep my eyes open to situations that are not so favorable.
