Yeah. So I haven't had access to the internet for a while now....well since I've been in baltimore really. so a little over a month I guess. Umm....things are good. This job is really hard and stressfull. I didn't think it was going to be, but man...I've had some rough times already.
Here's a summary of what I do:
1) help out on the boat
2) drive the van to the campsite with all the kids' stuff and camping gear
3) shop for food
4) help kids cook their own food, set up tents, etc.
5) protect kids from racoons
6) travel throughout maryland meeting the boat wherever they're docking
7) help keep the kids in line
8) try not to get lost
There it is. It's been fun. I've had two set of kids already. The first set of kids....weren't all too great. They were older and lazy. And I was having a hard time trying to adjust to the captain's needs as well as the educators. I did have like a mini breakdown because i was having a suck ass time. But....it was my first trip...so you make mistakes and you learn from them. I just wished...that i was more like a people person. it was hard for me to connect with the crew. so hard. and that made me more miserable. and...it was just so many things you know? the way i was treated, the lack of respect and trust, the way they snapped at you....it was hard. But at least the second trip was better. i liked the kids. i connected more with them and the crew as well. i had fun. the kids were nuts. one lost his glasses in the ocean, another was frickin' hilarious, it was just good times all around. More relaxed. And the ship was amazing. Skip jacks (sp?) are so gorgeous. Loved it. So yeah...like with any other job ....there are alot of up and downs. But i know that in the end there will be a lot more ups than downs and thats what's gonna count. Good times!
So there you go. Not too bad. I did lose my phone though :( Suckage. ahhhhhhhhhhhh. I didn't know i was so attached to my phone. luckily someoone found it. now...the problem is...how to get it back...seeing that it was left at a college that we had camped at earlier. oh problems problems. well i guess that's it. this will probably be the last entry for a while seeing as i don't have internet....at all.
