Need Help Digitizing Audio Cassettes
Does anyone have a stereo that I can borrow (or come over and use)?
I have a few old tapes I want to digitize. I tried following some instructions I found online, but no sound came through to either of our computers (Mac and PC) while playing the tapes through either of our tape-playing devices (a Walkman and a boom box). I think the problem is that there needs to be some amplification, and so I think the solution is to connect the Walkman/boom box to a stereo that has both a line in and a line out, so that I can use the stereo to amplify the sound (or, just a stereo that has good amplification and a tape player).
If anyone has such a device that I can borrow or come over to use, please let me know. Or, if you have experience with this kind of thing and have suggestions to do it myself that are free/cheap, I'm all ears.
