Though the quarry was on Hamleigh land, William didn’t have to stay with his parents. Instead, he moved into the small house in the quarry.
He was free here, without the ever-watchful eye of his mother. William wasn’t on his own, there were still others that lived in the quarry with him, but he felt independent regardless. He didn’t have to worry about his mother sneaking into bed with him in the dead of night or touching him in the bath.
Instead by his side was a sleeping woman who cuddled up to him all night. And he loved it.
