For those keeping track (and why would you be?) today's DVR adventure was an almost all Hitchcock Marathon. I watched Vertigo, The Birds, and Notorious. There's still Rear Window waiting for me, but I'm saving that for tomorrow. Also I watched last night's CSI:NY and while we very rarely get the Danny/Flack action, when we do, it is filled with subtext. That line about the couple waking up and realizing they're married? So them. And then after that I put on Six Degrees of Separation. I hadn't ever seen it before and it was fantastic. I'd love to see it on the stage, though. One day, one day.
Oh! So, everyone remember the crazy bugs THAT CAN FLY?
THEY'RE BACK.
I found out yesterday morning. Yesterday I had a dentist appointment at 10:15. It takes about a half hour to get there and I wanted to shower and wash my hair before that. So I used the alarms I use for school (one at 8:30 and one at 9:15) and I got to bed. I wake up, only it's before 7 and my brother is singing in the shower (we both share a bathroom and the shower shares a wall with my room). I don't fall back asleep until after he's done and I manage to sleep through my first alarm. So, I wake up again at 9:15 and decide to fuck doing my hair all nice and straight and just go to the dentist with damp, curly, frizzy hair.
So I go into the bathroom, first needing to pee. Only, the toilet's clogged. So I leave the bathroom and go to take the stairs down to use my parent's bathroom. Only, there's one of the bugs. I'm not ashamed to admit I let out a really girly yelp when I saw it. Sitting there, on the second step from the top, right in the middle of the fucking step (and they're narrow) and I CAN'T GET BY. I HAVE TO PEE, DAMNIT!
Especially since I know those fuckers can fly, I don't like approaching them. I have to wait for my mom to come home (about ten minutes later, she's my ride as there are no available cars) to kill the bug, so I can go downstairs and relieve myself. I take a three minute shower and fuck washing my hair and curse those goddamn bugs.
So far, none of them have flown at my head, so all in all, it hasn't been too bad. BUT STILL.
