Fandom's job is overinvestment. What is art's purpose if not to get invested in it? It doesn't matter if it's a tv show, movies or music, that we get invested in it is a sign that it's working. Just, yes.

One of these days I will combine all my art tl;dr into a giant In Defense of Fandom post. Because what we do is of value, and part of the artistic cycle.

Oh sure, I wouldn't want anyone else to spend that much time coding a roundup. I'll try to keep it updated as more posts get made.

But if anything, the reaction to the post has given me so much hope and pride.

I feel that way too. At the very least it has pulled us all closer together, not only in our love of these boys, the porn, and each other, but to fight the good fight and know that none of us all are alone in doing so. Fandom is love, for real.

There's been no name-calling, no seriously defensive posts. It's all been intelligent discussion! When kerfuffles happen, I'm always saddened because the TOPIC is overshadowed by the kerfuffle itself, and these are important things to discuss, and I'm glad we get a chance to do it.
