Communication = LOVELY

I have to explain the situation here:

This past Christmas I received a Sony Ericsson W580i cell phone. I was not very careful with it, I dropped it often, and I rarely turned it off at night, so it began to give me problems. I was able to send it back to AT&T and get a replacement. That one worked for a few weeks, and I honestly forget what happened to that one but I had to send it back as well. The third phone I had (another replacement) worked for a bit longer, then for some reason one day would not turn on. I sent THAT one back, and received a fourth. This one was doing great, and I had been using it until a few days ago when tragedy (or rather just bad luck) struck. I had it in my jacket pocket, which apparently did not hold things well, because while running into Kroger, it fell out. I bought my fish food and bath tissue and was paying when I realized I didn't have my phone with me. I booked it outside and found the poor thing lying in a puddle. It had been there for maybe 7-10 minutes, but that was enough to absolutely kill it. It wouldn't turn on, and when I charged it the screen lit up but there was a lot of water in it. So my dad gave me his phone (which was my mom's first, and thus old and crappy) to use for the time being.

I ordered a used phone off the internet since I didn't think AT&T would replace mine because it had been water damaged. My mom called them and told them what happened, and thus I found out that they were able to send me a new phone because mine was covered under the insurance. There was a $50 fee for some reason or another, but that still saved me $30 on the used phone I'd ordered (which was nowhere near as awesome as the W580i). My I was still using my dad's phone, and one day while I was putting my things away after practicing, I noticed a crack in the body of the phone. I gently pushed at it, and the poor little LG phone fell apart in my hands. I borrowed the Wheelwright sign-in girl's phone to tell my parents what had just happened, and since then I've been without a phone (well, it was only yesterday...but it still sucks not being able to contact anyone outside of the internet).

This evening my parents showed up at my dorm and handed me my new Sony Ericsson W580i. It's not the exact same as my old one, it's a newer model and is white instead of black, but I am so so so so very grateful I have a phone again. One does not realize how much one depends on cell phones until one is without a cell phone for too long. I use it to ask people for rides, to get advice, to let people know where I am...perhaps it's bad that I'm so dependent, but at the same time cell phones are really helpful. Say I got in an accident and couldn't call 911? I'd have to wait for someone to stop and help or leave the scene to find a phone to call for help. With a cell phone an accident is taken care of immediately, or at least people know what's going on much faster. For all the issues I've had with it, I sure do love technology.

Me and my lame headphones and my new awesome phone. Yes, that is Koyama on my phone's wallpaper. <3!

bad luck, new cell phone, w580i
