So this weekend, the CCU marching band went to Happy Valley to play during halftime in the Chanticleer vs. Nittany Lions game. I've got bad news and good news about it. The bad news is that CCU lost the game, 66-10. We didn't even really try that hard, which kind of made me sad, but it's not like we can compare well to freaking Penn State. The good news is, as a band - WE ROCKED. The show went really well, and the majority of the 106,000-person crowd was applauding us. :D We had so much fun performing, it was awesome. The Blue Band was really cool too, although personally I thought the only reason they had such a good reputation was because they're so dang big. But they weren't terribly loud, and there were a few intonation issues that I heard. But otherwise they were pretty cool; I liked them. When halftime was over, they congratulated us on a good show and shook our hands. They were really nice people; they gave us water too, before the game. :) The bus ride there and back was not as bad as everyone said it was going to be. Yes it was long, but we were spending it with good friends. Koki (see Synaka's page [friends list] for explanation) and I were listening to all my Japanese music on the way there, whenever a not-so-interesting movie was playing. I actually introduced her to some new favorites. ^.^ It was fun.
Now that I'm back, normal life must resume. :/ I have a ton of reading to do for English, plus some Music History reading and listening to do. Oh joy.
