About these summer days

It is very possible Sirius comes to visit just to have more of mum's cookies. He's lounging on my bed, and snacking on them even now. I think he's gaining weight, actually. Despite that, he has a horribly good sense of balance and utterly fails at falling down when on the rollerskates, unlike I. It really hurts less to fall than one would think.

Sirius, though, doesn't know how to stop, and has to constantly employ the help of lamp-posts, kerbs and innocent people who happen to be there. It seems all he's concerned about is going faster and faster every time. I suspect he actually forgets he can't stop until it's time to do so. But it's all in his peculiar mindset, I suppose. Which is something I also love about him, I might add.

Yesterday we were up on the roof for hours, just talking, although shirtlessness occurred on account of it being quite hot. The roof is possibly my new favourite place. Mum keeps insisting I shouldn't climb up there because I might fall down, and I haven't the heart to tell her it's hardly the most dangerous place I've been to, or the most dangerous thing I've done.

All in all, it's brilliant to be home.
