I watched a program on tv earlier called Chavs, which, said the Sky guide, was presented by Julie Burchfield (or some such name) who would give Chavs (Or 'scobes, or whatever) a "spirited defense". But what she really did was attack the people who don't like them, pointing to middle-class snobbery and some perceived jealousy by people who are "afraid to dress up in bright colours and be an individual. They dress in beige and look at Chavs only to be presented with their own shortcomings".
Er... sure.
I don't mind the harmless ones, but the problem is that, at least in this country, there don't seem to BE any harmless ones. But that Burchfield person has done them no favours by attacking everyone who has something negative to say about them. As for me? Well, ironically enough, I dislike their lack of individuality (let's all dress in tracksuits, white hoodies and baseball caps!. And I despise the word "bling".
