ideal place to live, eh? environmentally-speaking, it has much sunshine, all 4 seasons (albeit w/a mild winter), big old leafy-green trees, lots of local fauna, flowers-flowers-flowers everywhere you look, and is adjacent to a large body of water. humanly-speaking, it has lots of people from lots of different cultures and backgrounds all living in relative close proximity and harmony, cultural amenities (like museums, libraries, galleries, theatre, music venues, educational institutions, great architecture, free concerts, etc), entertainment opportunities (a vibrant restaurant scene, great [goth/industrial] clubs & local bars, coffee shops & bookstores, lots of mom&pop shops & cool locally-owned boutiques, restored movie houses, free open public access to the water, lotsa thrift, antique & second-hand shops, farmers' markets, sports teams, parks & recreation facilities, etc), and a strong community network of non-profits where volunteers and volunteer opportunities are enthusiastic and plentiful. politically-speaking, it leans left- ( ... )
