Hello all!
NEDA has been working hard with EDNCF (Eating Disorder Network of Central Florida) to FINALLY get Orlando more focused on eating disorder activism and awareness. For this first time, Orlando will be having a NEDA Walk for awareness this February 20th. Aside from the obvious jokes about how silly it is that we're exercising for eating disorders (at least it's not a 5k? lol), I could really use all of your help!
It is likely that there is a walk in your town, and if it is then check the NEDA website and make your own local team! If there isn't, or if you don't want to/cannot attend, I would really appreciate if you donated money on behalf of me (Melissa Ford). Jessica Capps is the captain of my team, if that comes up.
The event/donations help to raise awareness and funds to support individuals and families affected by eating disorders. Your contribution will help NEDA continue to build on critical programs and services such as a National Toll-Free Helpline, National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Research Grants for Young Investigators, an annual Conference for Families and Professionals, and Toolkits for Parents and Educators.
I really appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress! Also, if you have any names of people you would like me to walk in the name of (any one that may have past away due to ED related complications) I would be honored to represent them for you.
