Yesterday was my sister's 21st birthday. April 5th, 1984. There's a
picture of us that I took in the backseat of our mini van on the way to
the airport to send her off to northern India. It's a little blurry
(the length of my arm is not far enough for my Siemens-Westinghouse
camera to focus) and our faces our huge. It takes up almost the entire
screen on the background on my computer. She sends us letters, pretty
regularly, written on plain notebook paper complete with some coloquial
phrases and Nepali symbols, which by the way looks like:
Just a tasty little sample. Emily usually writes things along the lines
of "I like potatoes". Anyway, the moral of the story is I miss her, I
won't see her until June 14th (yes, she's missing graduation), and I'd
like to wish her a happy birthday, wherever she's trekking now (she
mentioned something about yaks...)
In other news, three day weekend! I feel like spending quality time
with my friends, and perhaps an alocoholic beverage or two...drop me a
comment!
