Christmas is OVER
I woke up this morning to the sight of my sister sleeping peacefully in the bed next to me uncaring of the (lack of) dawn and the imperative to get up. Not for her the hauling yourself out of bed and wearily into the bathroom in the dark. I had somewhat reconciled myself to the fact of working today by the time I'd walked half way to the station and the rest was inevitable but this does not mean I like it. I laughed at a colleague's silly pretending to squirt me with water and then felt all my muscles tighten up into today's grimace.
I keep reminding myself that it's only today and tommorow. But I've already had a fight with the printer while trying to print out letters on headed paper. It doesn't want to work either.
In other news waitresses and hr have pulled out of new years. I'm what you might call not impressed. I totally respect that family occassions are important but if you've made plans, your family should respect that. I know mine would. I mean unless someone is dying/getting married/getting engaged surely the fact you've agreed to go out with friends prior to the invitation is kind of important? It's not like new year's is a FAMILY holiday. Anyway. Enough griping. Part of my problem is it leaves me new year-ing with networkguy, lilmiss, headbobber, my brother and me. We like these people but they're not as fun and as sociable as w&h. Sigh. Oh well. At least there'll be dancing.
