Family w/e
Y txted me out of nowhere to ask to meet up on Saturday. As normal he had an ulterior motive - minor anxting about a possible new job that he wanted a second opinion about taking on. Not all that interesting altho I got a free moroccan meal out of it. 's all good.
Went to my sis' bbq yesterday. Was quite nice. Also finally got to see Dr Who, as I'd missed it on Saturday. Ya gotta love Dr Yum. I'm sorry you just do hehe! Was a nice lazy afternoon with the sis also. She's going to take me to X3 woooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! I'm psyched!! I wouldn't have minded going with the South African teacher but she's incommunicado. Ah well.
Today saw two japanese family friends of my mum's descend on us. We gave them lunch and took 'em to see Windsor castle. They were really sweet but it was slightly weird to tower over two adults. They were connections of my Mum's mum through the Sacred Heart school in Japan that my grandma went to.
Must remember that my gran grew up in Kobe I always forget what it was called except that it begins with K which is annoying. They were very sweet and the lady told me i looked very much like my gran which touched me. I'm used to people saying that generally who know the family or who are relatives but somehow this person who knew her quite well saying this was just...touching.
I'm looking forward to a short week this week - what with the bank holiday today and my saturday off this saturday means I get a 4 day week which is pretty cool.
GB is now on his way to Belize with the girlfriend. After which he's back home for a few days and then is coming back HOME home to us!! Woooooooooooooo! Yayness. Lil bro in the house :)
I borrowed Mel Gibson's Passion of Christ from work and finally saw it this evening. I thought it rather good. I'm not sure I could say I enjoyed it as such as it was painful to see the death of Christ to graphically illustrated but I was still quite impressed all in all and was pleased to have seen it. Only thing I'd preferred not to have had was the slightly tacky balloon deflating burial robes in the tomb, and the weird naked ressurected Jesus with a slightly odd effect for the holes in his hands. I feel that just an image of empty tomb with burial cloths would have been better and said enough. Mum thought it good which is impressive. Not 100% clear how you could use this as a tool for converting people as you only had a bare minimum of what Jesus preached and why he was allowing himself to be put to death. Intresting stuff tho. Also not sure it's recommendable for non christians except that it's pretty nicely executed.
Anyhoo that's all the news from chez nous.
