(no subject)
so I was sitting in the tub thinking about a scene I'd like to paint of the norns weaving wyrd.
and it suddenly occured to me that macbeth's encounter with the weird sisters (which I always thought an odd name anyway) has a VERY different connotation if you spell it 'wyrd sisters'. in fact it turns the whole self fulfilling prophesy subject on its head...
none of my classes ever mentioned this possibility...neither do the notes at the beginning of the book, but it still was an 'oh hell! why haven't I seen that before now?!' sort of thought...then again...how many folks think about wyrd?
later edit: must be that the shakespeare class I took sucked. 'cause it is right there....down at the bottom
