menu foods has expanded its recall for the fifth time. it's also coming out that the cfo sold stock shares just before the recall hit the news. asshole. it is only a fluke and a blessing that dry food is manufactured somewhere else.
i stayed up late and so i woke up late, like always. i got up and barely made it to class in time and somehow without the notes i had worked on. it figures, and i shrugged it off, but i still haven't found them. wha? the presentation went alright, but it was a total information dump. now it's over.
in rhetorical studies, nick got excited about foucault. i got excited about people being excited. everyone talked a little (or more people than usual) about don imus's deal. i tossed in what i learned from 'fault lines in the contact zone'. i got an a on my paper but everyone was hanging around and then zach, to talk about his paper, so i'll wait to approach dr. heenan until later, maybe tuesday. i'm so looking forward to it, though.
i went back to the dorm for a sweatshirt--thank God i wore the jeans today. i also finished off my itc application and took it to the office of student services. they opened it up and looked at everything to make sure it was in order. when they opened professor cute's letter of rec, i asked for a photocopy. reading it made me feel as proud as i had hoped it would. i read some of it on a couch near the starbucks until the fire alarm went off; i read the rest of it on a planter outside the computing commons. i read my rhet studies paper there, too, except for one illegible comment. then i went back to the student union to scarf some lunch before dr. crowley's class. i thought she had forgotten about the email i sent her about the west wing, but she read it for the class! it was pretty great. crowley points! except i can never seem to greet or say goodbye to her.
at work i spent almost all my time talking to gladys about tristan, who is driving her so batty that she sent sandy a letter of resignation. that is totally not okay. sandy should be really careful to not blow this one--i know gladys has had it up to here with tristan since long ago. then nikhila and i talked about lost and then movies, even after anuj came, and i basically worked for like a half hour. but i count talking about the gladys situation, so it was for longer. sometimes i want to come and just focus and sometimes i can't.
kurtis found me in the study for dinner. he told me he got saved tonight. i guess the guy that he's been talking to, ricky, has really affected him. i hope it sticks. kurtis asked me if there were types of christians or just christians, and i compared them to feminists all night. we had a nice dinner and he helped me finish the crossword. i read for awhile. kelly called on her way to work. she was tired, and. the sand runs through my fingers, or so it seems.
the wind outside and the rain that i missed made me feel like i should have been going somewhere today, or else curled up inside by a fire or in a bath.
