Elizabeth remembers loving Simon in a...distant way, like it was something that she watched happen to somebody else. Sometimes, a lot of her life Before -- before Atlantis -- feels like that. Like everything was just a build up to this, like this is what she's been driving towards since she was a child. Everything was just...preparation. She had to be that person so that she could become this person...
It isn't that her life Before isn't important to her. Or wasn't meaningful. It isn't that at all. It's just, Atlantis seems so much more...real. It's a little like she came to life here, in this city. It's a different type of life in her new home.
She looks back on all the choices she's made, all the decisions, everything that's brought her to this point. She remembers, she reflects.
But it's time now to focus on her present situation.
She can only go forward.
