the stupid things people do in public
So after the crazy party on the fourth, I went into Boston with some friends to watch the fireworks over the Charles River. It was really packed and for some reason we decided getting off really early and walking the rest of the way would be a good idea. We kind of underestimated the walk. In total, Julz's phone said we talked eight miles (including there, back and a hike down newbury street). The fireworks were gorgeous and were totally worth being squished to my friend's bosom the whole train ride. I need to get shorter friends. Why am I five one when the shortest friend I have is five seven?
Anyway, we were headed back up Memorial drive when we see this PANTLESS GIRL PISSING ON A TREE. I mean...it's one thing if it's some side street, but this is one of the busiest streets in Boston. It was closed for pedestrian traffic on the fourth of July. Everyone headed back to the train station saw way more of her than they ever wanted to. We were walking innocently and then BAM she was naked. Well, we weren't exactly walking innocently. We formed a conga line to shove/sprint/weave through the crowd and get back to the train station relatively early. Which is like...before one. Kudos to us.
And something exciting actually happened at the bank!!! Someone got arrested and it was awesome! I didn't feel bad for him at all, because he made a complete ass of himself. So he goes up to this relatively new teller next to me with his social security check and a piece of cardboard with his name on it. Apparently he decided that was suitable enough identification. For 800 dollar checks, or any check, an "I promise it's me" and homemade cardboard doesn't cut it. He came into the bank looking like a total slob: wearing goofy pj pants and a beater. That would be excusable, if not for his behavior. When she wouldn't cash his check, and she was right not to, he began to throw a hissy fit in the lobby and cursing at everything: "I'M FUCKING DISABLED YOU HEAR ME. DISABLED! GIVE ME MY FUCKING MONEY NOW!" Keep in mind there are lots of kids around. He's just screaming at her and screaming at her and finally the teller manager sends them to customer service...but that was a distraction for her to call the police. He was dragged away crying and screaming.
Why do people think that acting like that will make anyone at all sympathetic? Be civilized and who knows, things just might work out for you.
