She was a long time advocate and pioneer in the LGBT rights movement and along with her partner of 55 years became the first couple to marry legally in San Fransisco, California.
The bravery and triumph of her spirit will live on in the work and dedication of those who have benefited from her unwillingness to waiver in her beliefs.
