Snow Day, Crafts and Writing
Today is yet another snow day. I'm trying to make plans for myself so I don't go nuts inside my house. My biggest plan for the next 5 days is to hang out with Roxanne. My car battery is still dead and the buses aren't really running so my travel is pretty limited to places I can reasonably walk. I'm trying to use this time productively, it seems to help with the cabin fever. What that really means is that I'm crafting away. I have all of the stuff I need to make my very own recycled paper so that will be my project for the afternoon. I'm going to try and walk to a cafe by my house and to the library later to get out of the house and run a much needed errand.
Tomorrow or Friday depending on the weather I'm going to go walk to Danny's and the post office. I'm so stubborn and hate asking for help so instead of just asking a neighbor for a jump I'm going to walk all the way to Danny's (it's not that far but the trip in the snow will probably take 30-40 minutes) get his Jeep and then jump my car myself. I know this is slightly ridiculous but I'm also not sure what else to do.
I should really use this time to work on my next zine. I have a billion ideas but a little less follow through. I have a bunch of stuff from National Novel Writing Month about my mom, alcoholism and how being the child of a recovering alcoholic has affected me. It's pretty different than the other stuff I've written and it makes me a little nervous. Mostly I'm not sure anyone really wants to read about my mother's recovery and my relationship to it. But I know that because it's important to me it's important to other folks.
I'm also trying to finish a piece for my Bent class for a show we're trying to put together for Valentine's Day. We're writing narrative pieces about our favorite porno scenes. We're going to read our pieces while the porn scene is playing in the background. That really does sound like my valentine dream.
If anyone is around and bored I'm around and this is a perfect time for phone dates.
