{Take the 100 Things challenge!}

I figure that since everyone else is doing it, I should also ~Take the 100 Things Challenge~. My topic will be...

... wait for it.

100 Things About History

Which will mostly be examinations of the things no one thinks about that aren't covered in your history classes. Or at least, not the way I would have covered them.

TO WIT, the building of Hadrian's Wall:

Picture, if you will, the scene in Ancient Britain over 2000 years ago. Mostly, the bit that divides Scotland from England is made up of fields. But in one particular field, there's a Roman legion.

This Roman legion is standing on the England side of the imaginary, about-to-come-into-existence border.

On the other side of this imaginary pre-border is a tribe of Scotsmen. They are shouting in a foreign language.

They are naked.

And they are blue.

And it was on this spot that Hadrian's wall was built by the Romans. No prizes for guessing why you'd build a wall when you knew that the naked blue shouting people were safely on the other side of it.

Note: the preceding dramatisation is based on things that are true, but may not be even remotely accurate as a whole, because I wasn't there. Don't cite this in your history essays.
