home
it's been a short trip...so far. Glennis and I left Vancouver Monday morning after a Sunday night hot tub party pride weekend. I ended up hammered at the party and making myself sick before we flew off at 7am. I'm a terrible flier to begin with and adding a hangover to the disgusting feeling of flying was an awful idea. but, i had fun at the party! we hung around Toronto for a couple days visiting friends and shopping then my mom picked us up and we headed north to my cottage in Quebec. We stayed for a week. We were out on th boat everyday, drinking and fishing everyday, and barely swimming. We borrowed friends seado's cause ours didn't make it to the cottage this year. Glennis caught her first fish, a 5.2 pound bass, which is quite large for our small lake. She then proceeded to catch fish after fish! we had a lot of fun. Now we are home in Delmer at my folks house. we have visited friends and family everyday we've been here and I'm exhausted from it. My sister in law is ready to give birth any moment so we've spend quite a bit if time with her and my brother. I gave them the baby clothes I bought from the Gap and they love them. I think the kid will have a better wardrobe than me...I think i'm ok with that. I can't wait to spoil the little Dodsley.
A couple nights ago my father gave me a very special gift. he has yet to tell me the significance of the story behind it, but I think I know most of it anyway. All of the men in my family wear their initials on a gold pendant. I'm not sure who started the tradition, but I am now a member. It means so much to me that he gave this gift to me and accepts me as his son. i probably would have cried, but i settled for a manly kiss;)
Glennis leaves tomorrow and I shall continue to write my papers and work for the family business until the baby is born and I can return to Vancouver. i'll post photos when photobucket is done their maintenance.
