Glennis took me to one of her family christmas dinners last night... in White Rock or Surrey...I was really nervous. When your family thinks you're a dyke and you bring a boy to christmas dinner, well, you never know right? It was great though. We walked up to a line up to get into the house! There were too many people to count. The first person to approach us said "Glennis! You brought a BOY to dinner!  I'm sorry, a MAN!" I kind of laughed. I'm so not a man! I look like a 14 year old boy. Then her grandpa and grandma, with me standing all shy and awkward in the middle of the living room while she said her hellos to some other family members,  instantly made me feel welcome and they were so damn cute about it! I don't have any grandparents alive so I might have to invite myself into their family ;)

it's going to be weird not being at home with my family on xmas day, but I'm really looking forward to spending christmas with Glenny and her family. Nervous, but very excited.

I'm heading home in January for three days. I spoke with my mom last night and apparently most of my aunts and uncles on both sides are looking forward to seeing me. So, my mom is going to have another big dinner for me! I'm really happy that she has made huge strides with my transition and is looking forward to showing me off to our extended family. She has even begun to correct herself when she 'shes' me.  I'm going to try to get Jill and Fionn to come to dinner so that there will be more than just myself and my sister correcting the pronouns and my name.

oh, and Tina and I finally got connected at home!
