Micropayment is a Good Thing
After some considerable customer service pain I managed to port my old 604 number to Callcentric as I am now using my cell for primary service. It was hell getting Primus to release it but the deed is done.
I like how from this point on that number costs me merely US$1.95/month plus 1-2 cents/min on incoming calls which are currently routed straight to a voicemail message. But I have the flexibility down the road to use it in other ways. In the meantime I pay tiny amounts to keep active a number that many people still call me at.
I can also register the account on my iPod and make wifi calls that actually show a real phone number on the caller ID. I'm very geexcited about that.
