US, MA: People sought for focus groups in May

May 01, 2007 18:59

From an e-mail.

Hello,

Is alcohol use/abuse a problem for LGBT folks? Does it affect us differently than other communities?

If you're a member of the LGBT community, Fenway Community Health is interested in hearing about your knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors about alcohol use.

You don't have to have a history of substance use/drinking, nor do you have to be clean and sober. If you are interested, please review the dates and times and whether you fit the criteria for each group. If you do, please call Mike Fontana at 1617 927 6216 to register. Participants will meet for about 2 hours, will get free dinner and will each receive a $50 check.

Group 1: May 7: Gay and bi men who are not actively seeking treatment or support for alcohol abuse. 6:30-9 at the Prudential Tower, 800 Boylston St, Boston.

Group 2: May 8: LGBT folks in recovery. 6:30-9 at the Prudential Tower, 800 Boylston St, Boston.

Group 3: May 14: Transgender folks who are not actively seeking treatment or support for alcohol abuse. 6:30-9 at the Prudential Tower, 800 Boylston St, Boston.

Group 4: May 15: Lesbian and bi women who are not actively seeking treatment or support for alcohol abuse. 6:30-9 at the Prudential Tower, 800 Boylston St, Boston.

The information gathered at these groups will help us design better programs to provide support and information for those struggling with substance use.

Remember to register first, and thanks for your consideration!

Jon
