Thsi is the last weekend for "Body Worlds" at the Science Center. They stayed open 24 hours all weekend. So after work Friday, Nancy and I went. Not too much of a crowd at midnight. And free coffee and gooey butter cake samples! I was good, and just had a one inch square piece... only about 75 calories. Boy was it good!
Tickets were $18. I looked at my watch when we walked out, and saw we had been in there for two hours. time flew by. It brought back memories of Anatomy and Physiology class. This was very cool! There were a lot of bodies, and organs and bones. If you aren't familier, they take donated bodies and use a process called "plastination", I think it is, to process them. They almost don't look real. The bodies are dissectied to varying degrees, and posed so you can see the muscles and everything, and how they are affected by the movements. They also show what healthy organs look like versus diseased ones. Makes me very happy I don't smoke!
They also had one that was just the central nervous system. And several small animals and organs, that were just the blood vessels. Also had a camal and baby camal dissested too. Nancy said they are working on an elephant.
If it doesn't totally gross you out, and this comes near you, do see it! Even if it does gross you out, it really isn't gorss at all. very intresting and educational.
It's so nice out this weekend! But my allergies are feeling it! I went out for a 2 1/2 mile walk on Grant's Trail yesterday. I got to pet one of the Clydesdales. I think I may go to the Zoo for an hour or so this afternoon. If I can get myself moving. I started watching "Can't Buy Me Love" a bit ago.
