Go play with your rainstick

It's about time for an update, I suppose!

Last weekend I watched the first season of QI, a British Comedy Trivia show. LOVE. Stephen Fry is fantastic. And Alan Davies. And everyone else on that show, for that matter. Go download it, you'll love it. Stephen asks insane questions so the comedians that are competing against each other get points for being interesting rather than right. Hilarity enuses.

I've also been watching Firefly. Good series. Mal looks like a mix between Brian from QAF and Jason Bateman. Which is nice, as I like them both. And how cute is Kaylee? LOVE. Wash is rather fantastic too. I have 3 episodes left and then I'll need to get Serenity. I've had these DVDs since last October. I suck at getting around to watching things.

I realize that I never finished talking about Supernatural. Ohhhh, Dean.... I used to be a Sam fan but I have switched teams. Took me awhile, but i made it. ^_^ And they are sooooo Dick and Tim. Sam doesn't plan on hunting his whole life, like Tim doesn't/didn't (not sure what is current canon) want to keep on heroing. And they have Daddy issues. Sam just blindly follows orders, never questions, while Sam is a bit more "Prove to me that this is right." So yes. Dick and Tim. (Incidentally, I had a dream that had Jensen in it while in New York. Good stuff. *grin*)

Project Runway! Oh, Bradley, my little squid with no ocean. I'm going to miss him. And wow Robert needs to... Do something. Create a garment that I actually like. Also, I MISS MALAN. *clings* The extra videos on the Bravo website rock my socks. Especially the one with the fox-scarf-thing.

In other news, I bought a graphic novel. This one in fact. Looks pretty cool, doesn't it? And the plot sounds good. And the art is impressive, especially since it's done by and American artist. But wait, you might want to look at the fine print. THE DAMN COVER ART IS DONE BY A JAPANESE ARTIST. It isn't REMOTELY like what is inside the book. What the Hell is that? You don't do that for graphic novels. It's like, false advertising. I AM PISSED OFF. (Now, I haven't read it yet, so I can't give any real judgement on the book, but DAMN this whole 'cover art is different than what's inside' is not on.)

You know what else is not on? We were trying to send in my MIT application (urk) and it wasn't taking our credit cards. And we tried multiple ones. *sigh* However, in a related topic, I figured out what to write for my application essay. *grin* Now I just have to actually write it. And the other short responses. And set up an interview. And sign up for, study for, and take my SAT IIs. Still don't know which math to take.

Now, for something less whiny. Mr. Bingley, for those not in the know, is the latest addition to my family. Gabie, Jackie, Peter, Sarah, and I all went to the beach to celebrate Ms. Sarah's 17th birthday. We ate sushi for lunch. Then we went swimming. Cupcake eating followed, then sand castle building, sun bathing, and Monopoly on the beach playing.

Tracy is happy.

Cake! Mr. Bingley is excited, as he is rather fond of chocolate.

Tracy asks, "Could you actually, like, smoke a candle?"

Seagull!

Fermi plants off in the distance. Yay nuclear physics!

Monopoly!

Here is our awesome sand castle, a pseudo Hogwarts Castle, complete with forest, mountains, and lake.

Mr. Bingley wanted documentation of his trip.

It's his castle now!

After leaving the beach, we went to Jackie's house, ate Jimmy John's, and proceeded to bawl our eyes out while watching Brokeback Mountain. I don't want to be that sad ever again. It was rough watching while knowing the full plot, because I got teary during some not-supposed-to-be-emotional parts.

I figure I might as well explain Mr. Bingley's name. It was inspired by the recent Pride & Prejudice movie which is awesome. I read the novel because of it, and I have my SH Snape in my head now. I want to learn how to play the music from the movie, they sell the sheet music. Anyway, I have been wanting to name someone Mr. Darcy, but the bunny didn't seem very Darcy-ish. Also, the name Fitzwilliam is reserved for my boy BJD, whoever he'll happen to be. But, as I though about Mr. Darcy, I remembered Mr. Bingley! So good natured (if not exceptionally bright) with floppy hair and frequently seen wearing blue! It was a perfect match!

Here are some pictures for those who are unfamiliar with him.

I got new shoes for band yesterday. Nikes. Rather nice, if I do say so. I also got some shorts and tanks. I am ready for my Senior year! Well, almost. I haven't packed a thing yet.

Well, that's my cue to go! (It's so hard ending blog entries. I never know what to say.) See ya!
