following description... Um... does anyone else find the title
amusing? Or am I just weird... and there are a couple of other

Job Description:
1) Help build library of scripts with fighting roles for women
Intern will research publications of vintage scripts (in library anthologies, on the internet and other locations as necessary) to find early examples of fighting roles for women. The intent is to uncover forgotten instances rather than collect popular sources. Intern will also use the web and other research materials to gather new works that contain fighting roles for women.
If scripts are no longer copyright protected, intern will write a short summary of the play, scan (one of) the scene(s) in which a fight appears, and work with our webmistresses to post the summary and sample scene on the BWB webpage. If scripts are still under copyright protection, intern will contact playwright or copyright holder to secure permission to post a synopsis and sample scene on the BWB website, and will work with playwright/copyright holder to chose the appropriate selection.
2) Research and build Emile Bayard retrospective
Intern will research the history of “An Affair of Honor” lithograph upon which the “Joining Sword and Pen” playwriting competition is based, both its genesis and its subsequent appearances in other collections. Intern will also prepare a retrospective of Emile Bayard’s other illustrations for lobby display during the run of the production. Intern will include in this lobby display other examples of representations in art of topless duels, both male and female. A knowledge of French would be helpful in this research.
3) Research entries for Database of Women Warriors
Intern will assist in the collection of stories of historical, legendary and mythical women warriors for entry into our on-line database and when possible assist in the data entry of the information.
Job Requirements:
Ideal Candidate: Works well independently; completes tasks as assigned without constant supervision; approaches research with creativity, tenacity, and a desire to look beyond the obvious; owns/has regular access to a computer; familiar with French.
