Three Years....

For those of you who don't know, today marks three years of Bob and I being together!!!

And for the occasion, I've dug up a poem of mine...

We fly along in your spaceship
of rusty beige and squeaky seats
for a quiet evening
our faces reflecting light of the screen.

I expected to watch a comedy
laughing till the tears filled my eyes.
But a different scene:
shimmering waters
moonlight
shadows that smile through stars
a whisper of
firefly lights flickering
soda-filled champaign glasses
perched precariously on the sand.

You never walk -
with great leaps of joy
you dance toward the water
and only I can see
your dashing black cape
flapping wildly behind.

The Evil Overlord
Lord of all you survey
(waited upon by a goblin horde
and fighting squirrel insurrections)
But when you smile -
his cloak of black silk falls away!
A phoenix!
Chasing away darkness
And I know
your words of healing
kindness
chivalry
and eyes full of laughter
are even more powerful than any
Evil Empire.

And I love you more I miss you more and I win
